Review by Allison Martin A nice little book for parents of new preemies (or parents-to-be), recounting a mother's time in the NICU with her young son. Jacob was born prematurely weighing slightly less than 3 pounds. Jacob's Journal describes his mother's feelings during his time in the NICU, along with spiritual encouragement and practical suggestions for new parents. Helpful advice is given on topics such as becoming comfortable in the NICU, breastfeeding your preemie, asserting yourself in the parenting role in the NICU and getting to know your baby. This easy to read, encouraging, and informative book on preemie parenting in the NICU is a welcome addition to preemie literature. |
